The logical pick:

I said some time ago what I thought about the VP selections, and I’m sticking with my calls.  I consider Clark more of a long shot now due to the recent kerfluffle over who said what, but I agree on Clark’s basic premise that a turn in the POW camp doesn’t substitute for actual executive talent and ability.  You honor the service and the stuff he went through, but you don’t elect someone as President for it.

Some people have sent me mail on the lines of ‘but Edwards has turned down being considered for the job’, and I point to this (which is in a longer from under the cut) where he says that he’d do it if asked.  I think he’d eliminate the ‘bubba’ problem in Appalachia, and he’d be a good campaigner.  Also, here’s a good showing of how much of a bump he could give Obama.   The idea of the map looking like this give me a real thrill…

Projects: overview

At various times, I get into research projects; some simmer on for decades in various forms, and some break off and pick up speed because I happen to run into something that really fuels the fire, so to speak.

My library here is largely one that I use for reference. I have a huge amount of material that isn’t in book form, and I’m going through that all the time and hacking away at it to be able to organize and marshal the stuff. At present, the idea is to digitize everything, and use various management utilities to be able to find and figure out what’s what.
