I’ve been asked to speak at a Wright State University forum; their Honors Institute is having a symposium on Chinese-American relations called “Connecting With China”,  and I’m to talk on “Exploring Issues in Cross-Cultural Adoptions” from 2-4 pm, February 17th. The event is free to the public, but you have to register in advance to [...]

Windycon 2008:

It was wonderful to see people at the con; the best part, to me, was wandering around and chatting with con friends I hadn’t seen in a while and catching up with them.   Long chats with Kerri Ellen Kelly, Christa (Linda Sugar’s sister), Deb Kosiba (who was minding her store, so to speak, and I [...]

A note about POINT OF DIVERGENCE:

2 June, 2008 (10:19) | AH, POD, apas, fandom, personal | By: jrittenhouse

A change in the Wikipedia was reported over to me that took POINT OF DIVERGENCE, the Alternate History discussion APA, out of its page on the term.  The reason given was ‘ well, the group isn’t active and hasn’t been since 2004.’ Totally not true.  The APA just put out issue #51 the other day.  [...]

The last OEship:

12 June, 2007 (09:59) | AH, Noteworthy, POD, fandom, fanzines, nostalgia, organization, thoughtful | By: jrittenhouse

After thirty years of being in APAs and much of that being involved in the running of several as OE, I just gave up the editorship of POINT OF DIVERGENCE to two folks who will do a splendid job in the role, and hope to settle back into just helping and contributing, and not having [...]

AH projects: The New China

1 December, 2006 (14:39) | AH, POD, china, history, writing_projects, 宋教仁 | By: jrittenhouse

For the next issue of Point of Divergence, I’m working on a set of things that – well, they may seem to be very different, but the do have a semi-convergence somewhere-out-there. Number one is a project on China. I’ve been doing a huge amount of research on China for the last seven years; lots [...]

I’d forgotten about this, too. Though I don’t quite know where to start in ‘filling in the gaps…’
