Fanfic writer self-publishes Star Wars novel and has it up on Amazon and other major outlets, while fannish sorts await the Dinosaur Killer that will rain from Lucasfilm’s brow onto hers, yea and verily. Thanks for the tip of amazing dumbness to . Links to the archived author’s site here and here. Making Light has a greeat post on it here. Or the universal wisdom at Technorati.

From her site: If you wondered why nobody caught this so far, check this out:

How do you distribute your books?

Our books are distributed through Ingram, the largest book distributor. Our printer, Lightning Source, is a subsidiary of Ingram, so all of our titles are automatically picked up by the Ingram database. This means they are available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Borders, and independent bookstores.

Which means it was all on autopilot. Bet that one stops right now. Also see this article on their soon to be cut off publishing empire.

Interesting in that I was twigged to this via John Scalzi’s blog a couple days ago, but when I went to the amazon page just now through your link, I notice that the couple of dozen one-star, scathing reviews that were there yesterday aren’t there now, with the exception of two…

I have to assume that amazon has deleted the bulk of the reviews. Strange that they’ll delete posts stating how wrong Ms. Jareo is to be doing this, but they leave the book — which is a blatant violation of copyright — up for sale.
